LGBTQ+ Affirming Therapy

I’m looking for an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist.

Affirming means you do not have to explain, defend, or translate yourself before the real conversation can start.

What this looks like at Bloom.

Plenty of people arrive having spent a first session somewhere else educating a therapist about their own life. That hour is exhausting, and it is not therapy.

At Bloom, being LGBTQ+ affirming is not a specialty add-on — it is a baseline. Your identity is not the presenting problem, and it is not something to be worked around. It is simply part of the person in the room.

What you bring can be about identity — coming out, transition, family, faith, community, the weight of being careful all the time. Or it can be about anxiety, work, grief, or a relationship, with your identity as context rather than the topic. Both are welcome, and the choice is yours.

Who this is for.

  • You want a therapist who will not make your identity the project.
  • You are working out how, whether, or when to come out to people who matter.
  • You are navigating family, faith, or community that has not made it easy.
  • You are carrying the ordinary stress of being careful in most rooms.
  • You want couples work with someone who understands your relationship as it is.
